The three universities in Liverpool are the University of Liverpool (UoL), Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) and Liverpool Hope University. They have campuses located in the city centre and in the south of the city. LSH also supports students studying at the Liverpool Insitute of Performing Arts (LIPA).

Although there are always a number of students looking for housing throughout the year, we do see peaks at certain times of the year. These peaks are in December and January when students are looking for accommodation for the following September. We also see increased traffic to our website in August when the clearing process starts and international students are also arriving.

The city has experienced huge growth in purpose-built large city developments over the last ten years which is in response to students wanting to live close to their campus. This has resulted in a surplus of accommodation in Liverpool which has meant that the market is increasingly competitive.

Traditional housing on the edge of the city is popular and is attractive to those students who want to be close to their campus without paying the higher rent levels of the city centre.

Croxteth, where this accommodation, is located is an area of the city where houses have some of the finest Georgian terraces in the country, referred to locally as the Georgian Quarter. Accommodation for students in this area is limited and generally comprises of large shared dwellings and self-contained flats. The Catherine Street/Falkner Street area is popular with students wishing to live in traditional housing within close proximity to the city centre.
